Just putting this up was a force of will, to wipe clean the accumulated muck of the previous version of this site that grew up in the days when it seemed to make sense to talk to all of your closest friends through a globally indexed searchable page.  Now we have somewhat more targeted avenues for that, where I can say just exactly what I want to a private audience of friends.

So this place has become a repository for publicly-facing ideas and projects.
